Short Bio
My background is based on my return back to Spain in order to study Biological Sciences after a few years living in Argentina. During my BSc Thesis in a fungal lab, I had my first taste of research and fell in love with microorganisms. I then specialized in Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology, working on sustainable aviation fuels and novel antibiotics against resistant pathogens.
For my PhD I wanted to join HaloVerse because I’ve always aimed to bridge academia and industry to create a better world (specially through microbiology), and this was a perfect opportunity to do so !
I’m also an aviation geek! I know every plane model by heart , have a massive passion for the Airbus A350, and am constantly checking Flightradar24. You wouldn’t like being stuck in an airport with me. That is why I think that I would’ve loved to be an aerospace engineer in another life, but my dislike for maths killed that dream in this one. Instead, I compensate for this passion by traveling. My other hobbies also include hitting the beach or “destroying” friends during board games.
My post-DN goal is to join the R&D department of a pharmaceutical company, though I’d also love towork on sustainable aviation fuels.
