Short Bio
I come from a village on the coast close to Barcelona, so the most logical thing for me was to do my bachelor’s degree at the University of Barcelona. More precisely, in Biotechnology, because I knew that I wanted to study something related to biology, but there were too many options: biology, biochemistry, biomedicine, bioinformatics… so biotechnology looked like a good middle ground. After my bachelor’s degree, I moved to a small Bavarian city to do my master’s in chemical biotechnology at the Technical University of Munich. There, I found that my true deep down passion was enzymes in biocatalysis.
If I would not have become a scientist, I might have become an astronaut. However, in my last year of high school, I realized that physics wasn’t completely my thing and that personal hygiene in space is, to put it mildly, interesting.
I can get really enthusiastic about bikepacking (my newest obsession) or any type of traveling. After completing my first bikepacking trip a few days ago, I can only think about the next one, hoping that I will have the chance to do much more since I found it to be a really nice way of traveling.
I really do not like ants. A single one or a couple of them is fine, but I have a bit of a phobia when there are a lot of them together and moving.
My goal for after the DN is not really defined right now, as I believe that after 4 years of the DN, I will have experienced and learned so much about the topic and about myself that it will be then easier to decide.
