Short Bio
IIn the past, I mainly focused on identifying biosynthetic gene clusters towards novel compound discovery and on bioengineering non-ribosomal peptide synthetase-like enzymes in filamentous fungi. The discovery of new enzymes and compounds has always fascinated me — and still does.
Outside the lab, I try to spend as much time outdoors as possible, from cycling and ski touring to surfing.
If I had not become a scientist, I might have become a mountain guide.
I can get really enthusiastic about nerve-wracking activities.
I really do not like getting a flat tire in the middle of nowhere.My goal after the DN is to keep learning, exploring new fields, and discovering new things.
